About this event
In 1916, Shakelton undertook a brave journey across 600 miles in Antarctica to save his crew stranded in crushing ice of a remote island near the South Pole.
Annie Aggens of Wilmette's Polar Explorers tells the thrilling story and will illustrate her talk with photos. To make it even more exciting is that Annie has herself traced Shackleton's steps in the crossing of the South Georgia Island!
Proceeds will go toward the Matthew Henson Scholarship Fund supported by Polar Explorers.
The cost is $25 per person. Any person after, the cost is $15.
Wine will be available for purchase. Doors open at 6:30 pm
